A spectacular collection of Kashmir sapphires as well as fine sapphire and ruby layouts from US-based coloured gemstone specialist Sara Gem Corporation is expected to dazzle buyers at the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.
“We are offering a few classic Kashmir sapphires and stones from a new deposit in the Azad Kashmir region. We also have a few exquisite heated ruby and blue sapphire layouts,” the company said. While Sara Gem recorded slower-thanusual business activity in the first half of the year, it has seen a “great deal of excitement and strong demand” for Kashmir sapphires from the new Azad Kashmir mine. Heated and unheated fancy sapphire layouts, and heated and unheated rubies are likewise moving fast, stated Sara Gem.
“We are also seeing a drop in demand for large heated sapphires, which translates to weaker prices. There is rising interest though in unheated sapphires and all other gemstones that we carry, but prices of these gemstones remain steady though,” the gemstone specialist said.
Sara Gem is targeting coloured gemstone jewellery manufacturers during the show. It is also on the lookout for retailers and other gemstone dealers.
The company, however, cited a more challenging situation in mainland China due to government restrictions on international wire transfers, which are affecting Chinese demand during trade exhibitions.
With more than 35 years of experience in the coloured gemstone trade, Sara Gem has built a strong global customer base on the back of product quality, honesty, reliability and top-grade customer service. Established by Sara Rahmanan in 1981, the company grew from a one-person endeavour to an internationally recognised company in the gemstone trade. Rahmanan’s sons, Ron and Sam, later joined the business.
Sara Gem specialises in fine-quality stones that are re-cut and polished to bring out the best colour and shape. Almost all of its finer-quality gemstones are certified, the company said.
