Welcome to the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.
Today, the September Fair is celebrating another milestone – its 35th anniversary – by offering an even more impressive spectrum of gemstone and jewellery products, and innovative technologies and services that remain unrivalled anywhere else in the world.
For seven days, an estimated 56,000 buyers will converge in Hong Kong to source diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, jewellery and industry-related products from more than 3,690 exhibitors from 56 countries and regions. Our exciting show floor spans 135,000 square metres of exhibition space in two world-class venues – the AsiaWorld- Expo (AWE) and the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Our tried-andtested product categorisation initiative, wherein goods are sorted according to category and are tailored to buyers’ purchasing needs, is once again at work, enabling you to engage more effectively with your business prospects and partners face-to-face, acquire qualified leads and increase your company’s visibility.
The AWE section of the fair, which opens today, is highlighting suppliers of precious raw materials, while the HKCEC segment of the show will house companies – including established brands – specialising in finished jewellery products starting from September 15. Both venues are unmatched when it comes to the sheer breadth and depth of their offerings.
We are deploying focused initiatives to serve the industry better. The September Fair’s new attractions include the CORE pavilion and group pavilions, namely the Hong Kong Indian Diamond Association (HKIDA) and the Natural Color Diamond Association (NCDIA). Their coming on board brings to 26 the number of group pavilions at this edition in the two venues.
The Packaging, Tools & Equipment pavilion has been relocated to the HKCEC to accommodate more vendors, and now boasts an exhibition space that is 18 percent bigger compared with the previous edition.
Also returning this year is the “Diamonds are Natural: Declaration Programme on Diamond Exhibits,” which was successfully launched in September last year. This initiative aims to help diamond buyers make informed purchasing decisions, and acknowledges members of recognised diamond trade associations who make a declaration that they supply and exhibit diamonds in line with “Trade Descriptions (Definition of Diamond) Regulation” and in accordance with Hong Kong law during the fair.
I am also delighted to announce that we will be extending the same focus to the new jewellery shows that we have acquired as a result of UBM’s acquisition of Allworld Exhibitions. Allworld Exhibitions is a leading trade show organiser operating 51 fairs in 11 countries and across nine industry sectors. It goes without saying that the merger further strengthens UBM’s market-leading position in Asia.
On behalf of everyone at UBM Asia, thank you for being a part of the September Fair. I wish you a fruitful visit and an enjoyable stay in Hong Kong.
