Osatina Jewellery Co of Hong Kong is unveiling its new range of bejewelled watches, The Skull, at the International Jewellery Show.
The Swiss-movement watches feature a skull-shaped floating diamond dial behind sapphire crystal glass, embellished with coloured gemstones such as fancy sapphires or tsavorites. The watches were designed by Osatina’s Anita So and Thailand-based jewellery and watch producer Atelier 28, which manufactured the pieces.
Osatina is also highlighting its jadeite jewellery and watch pieces. One such marvel is The Secret, a coloured gemstone-encrusted brooch/pendant that reveals a jadeite and diamond watch beneath. This piece won So a Merit Award in the 18th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, one of four awards the designer picked up in 2017 for her jadeite watch designs.
“I found that the big brands would make secret watches or jewellery watches using a variety of gemstones except jadeite,” noted So. “Hong Kong is one of the most important trading centres for jadeite. Backed by exquisite jadeite craftsmanship and watchmaking expertise, we aim to promote jadeite and Hong Kong’s design capabilities to the world.”
